What is KeirEd?
KeirEd offers two kinds of help. Our one-on-one tutoring covers every subject from Prep to Year 12, online anywhere in Australia or in your home in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast or another capital city.
Our live online subject programs are for Queensland students in Years 7 to 12. Each program has a weekly live class for your child’s year level, class notes, workbooks at three levels, practice exams, a recording of every class, and one-to-one video sessions your child can book whenever they get stuck.
What happens on the free call?

Which subjects and year levels have classes running?
We have Maths classes running now for Years 7, 8, 9 and 10.
Ask about English and Science in Years 7 to 10, and English, General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics and Chemistry in Years 11 and 12. We’ll confirm whether a suitable class is available and its start date on the call.
How do we get started?

How do I enrol after the call?
If the program fits, we confirm the class, start date, fees and enrolment terms in writing before you decide whether to enrol.
Does booking a call cost anything?
No. The call is free. It does not enrol your child or take payment.
Is KeirEd only for Queensland students?
No. Our one-on-one tutoring runs online anywhere in Australia, and in your home in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast or another capital city, depending on tutor availability in your area.
Our subject programs follow the Queensland curriculum in Years 7 to 10 and the QCAA syllabuses in Years 11 and 12, so they are for Queensland students.
When are the classes?
This term, Maths classes run on Mondays at 5:30pm for Year 9, Tuesdays at 6:00pm for Year 10, and Thursdays at 4:00pm for Year 7 and 5:30pm for Year 8. Each class runs for 90 minutes. All times are Queensland time.
For other subjects, we’ll confirm the class time for your child on the call.
How many students are in a class?
Classes have 7 students or fewer.
How do the one-to-one sessions work?
Your child books a 30-minute video session through the student hub, up to 7 days ahead. They can hold one booking at a time and book the next one after it. There’s no cap on how many they attend. Sessions run on weekdays during teaching weeks, and if no time suits, we’ll arrange one within 5 days.
How do the workbook levels work?
There are three levels: Foundations, Connections and Challenge. Everyone in the class covers the same topic, and each student works at the level that suits them. Your child moves up a level when their work shows they are ready.
What if my child misses a class?
They can watch the recording, use the class notes and book a one-to-one session to catch up.
Can my child do more than one subject?
Yes. Each subject is its own enrolment. The second subject is 25% off and the third is 50% off.
What happens after the free call?
We confirm any suitable class, its timetable, start date and fees in writing. You decide whether to enrol in the 10-week program; booking a call does not enrol your child.
Can my child join partway through a term?
Yes. A mid-term enrolment is priced for the classes left in the term, plus an onboarding and resource fee that we tell you about before you enrol. Your child also gets a one-to-one session to plan their catch-up.
What does a term cost, and can we pay in instalments?
We go through the fee on the call, and we set it out in writing in an Enrolment Schedule before you agree to anything. The term is paid in one amount by card or bank transfer. We can offer a payment plan in some cases, so ask us about it on the call.
What if we’d prefer face-to-face lessons?
Our one-on-one tutoring can run in your home in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast or another capital city, depending on tutor availability in your area.
Program classes are online. They are taught live by a teacher, not pre-recorded, and your child can ask questions during the class. If they want more time with the teacher, they book a one-to-one video session.
Every class is recorded, so your child can rewatch the parts they didn’t follow, which a face-to-face lesson can’t give them. No one has to drive anywhere.
What if my child does better one-to-one?
Then our one-on-one tutoring may suit them better. A tutor matched to your child works on their own schoolwork every week, online or in your home in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast or another capital city.
The program also includes one-to-one time. On top of the weekly class, your child can book as many 30-minute one-to-one video sessions as they need.
What if it’s more than we want to spend?
Weigh the fee against the cost of leaving a gap where it is. Most subjects build on earlier work, and Maths most of all, so a topic your child doesn’t understand this term makes next term’s topics harder as well. In Year 12, the results from Units 3 and 4 count toward the ATAR, and an assessment can’t be sat again once it’s done.
The term fee covers a live class every week, as many one-to-one sessions as your child books, the workbooks, the practice exams and the recordings. We can offer a payment plan in some cases.
What if we don’t have time, or my child is already busy?
The program is one class a week. Your child books one-to-one sessions around their week, and if a class clashes with sport or another activity, they can watch the recording. Everything is online, so there’s no travel time. We’ll explain the expected work between classes for your child’s year and subject before you enrol.
What if my child is behind and the class moves too fast?
Everyone in the class covers the same topic, but your child works through the workbook at their own level, starting with Foundations if that’s where they are. If something in class doesn’t make sense, they can rewatch the recording and book a one-to-one session to go through it.
What if my child isn’t motivated at the moment?
The program works when a student comes to class and does the work, so we’ll be upfront about that on the call. Starting at the right workbook level means the work isn’t too hard to begin with, and we call you in week 2 to talk about how your child is going.
Should we wait until next term?
Term 4 starts on 6 October. A student who joins in week 1 gets every class, recording and resource from the start of the term. If you join later, we’ll plan the catch-up with you.
What will my child need to do each week?
Your child comes to the live class, works through their workbook tasks, sends their work through the student hub and books a one-to-one session when they get stuck.
What do you need from us as parents?
For a student under 18, we contact you directly and get your approval before they join a class. Your child needs a computer with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work. Their camera can stay off in class if they prefer.
Are classes recorded, and who sees the recordings?
Every class is recorded. Only the students in that class, you (if you ask) and KeirEd staff can see the recordings. We never use recordings in marketing unless you sign a separate, optional permission form.
How will I know how my child is going?
We assess your child’s work through class work, workbook tasks, tests and practice exams, and we report their progress to you.
Do you guarantee results?
We don’t guarantee a particular grade, ATAR or university offer, because results also depend on the school’s marking and your child’s effort.
What’s the commitment?
Enrolment is for one school term. It continues into the next term unless you cancel at least 14 days before that term starts, and we remind you 28 and 17 days before. You can cancel by email, and you don’t need to give a reason.
What if we need to stop partway through a term?
Tell us in writing at [email protected]. If you cancel at least 14 days before the term starts, we refund the term fee in full. Once the term has started there’s no change-of-mind refund, but your child keeps access until the term ends. If illness or a family emergency stops your child from continuing, contact us and we’ll look at a refund or credit.
How does the referral reward work?
When a family you refer joins a term program, you earn $200 off your next term. There’s no limit on how many families you can refer. Ask them to give your name when they book. The full conditions are in our Terms.
