Live online tutoring
that works like a real class.
Your child joins a teacher and a small group at the same time each week, works through a workbook at their level, and books one-to-one video help between classes. Every class is recorded. We also offer one-on-one tutoring from Prep to Year 12, online or in your home in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast or another capital city.
Both calls are free. Booking a call doesn’t enrol your child or take payment.

Good teaching.
The work to make it stick.
Help when it matters.
Understand it with a teacher.
The class is live, not a video course. The teacher explains, works examples on screen and checks each student’s working as they go.

Know what to work on next.
Between classes, your child works through notes and a graded workbook in the student hub, and sits full practice exams before school assessments.

Turn a sticking point
into a next step.
When a question needs more time, your child books a 30-minute video session and works through it one-to-one with a tutor, with their workbook on screen.
Your student hub brings lesson recordings, resources and subject discussions together, so you can revisit the teaching and ask questions between classes.

Build the foundations.
Then raise the challenge.
Online classes work best when every student is working at the right level. The workbook levels make that possible in a group.
- 01 · FoundationsMake the core ideas and methods reliable.
- 02 · ConnectionsCombine skills and explain your thinking.
- 03 · ChallengeApply what you know to unfamiliar problems.
High-performance pathway
Demonstrate mastery through your workbook and assessment results to unlock advanced problem-solving sessions and extension resources. Tackle the unfamiliar, multi-step questions that stretch beyond routine practice.
Your child moves between workbook levels as their work develops. Your teacher uses their work and assessment results to set the right level of challenge.

Personal investment.
High expectations.
Leah & Jake Founders of KeirEd
With backgrounds in teaching and science, we built KeirEd around a clear belief: students should understand what they are learning, know how to improve and have the support to aim higher.
That belief shapes the program: clear explanations, progressively challenging work and individual help when a question needs more attention. Strong foundations matter. So does knowing when a student is ready for more.
For families, it means a clear starting point and people to talk to about the next step. For students, it means being challenged with support behind them.

How it works online
What a KeirEd online lesson looks like
Online tutoring can mean anything from a pre-recorded video course to a tutor on a webcam. KeirEd is neither. It is a live class with a teacher, held at a set time each week, with one-to-one help available between classes.
Before the class
- Your child opens the class link from the student hub a few minutes early.
- The class notes and that week’s workbook section are already in the hub.
During the 90-minute class
- The teacher explains the new topic and works through examples on screen.
- Students try questions, ask questions out loud or in the chat, and the teacher checks their working.
- The class has 7 students or fewer, so the teacher can see who is stuck.
After the class
- The recording goes into the hub, so your child can rewatch anything they didn’t follow.
- They work through the workbook at their level: Foundations, Connections or Challenge.
- When they get stuck, they book a 30-minute one-to-one video session. There is no cap on how many they attend.
Online compared with a tutoring centre
- No travel to and from a centre, so the time goes into the lesson.
- Every class is recorded, which a centre lesson can’t give your child.
- One-to-one help is booked online, so your child can get it on the day they are stuck.
What your child needs at home
- A laptop or desktop computer with a camera and microphone. A phone screen is too small for working through maths on screen.
- A reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work.
- Their camera can stay off in class if they prefer.
Questions about online tutoring
Is online tutoring as effective as face-to-face?
It depends on how the online lesson runs. A live class with a teacher who checks each student’s working is very different from a recorded video. KeirEd classes are live, small, and backed by one-to-one sessions and graded workbooks. Every class is also recorded, which a face-to-face lesson can’t give your child.
What platform do the classes run on?
Classes run on a video platform that opens from the student hub. We send the set-up details and a test link before your child’s first class, so you can check the camera and microphone.
Does my child have to have their camera on?
No. Their camera can stay off in class if they prefer. We do ask that they can speak or type in the chat so the teacher can check their understanding.
Can my child use an iPad or phone?
A laptop or desktop works best, because your child needs to see the teacher’s working and their own workbook at the same time. An iPad can work for the one-to-one sessions.
How does my child ask questions in an online class?
They can unmute and ask, or type in the chat. With 7 students or fewer in a class, the teacher reads every question. Anything that needs more time goes to a one-to-one session.
How do the one-to-one video sessions work?
Your child books a 30-minute session through the student hub, up to 7 days ahead. They can hold one booking at a time and book the next one after it. Sessions run on weekdays during teaching weeks.
What happens if our internet drops out during a class?
Your child can rejoin with the same link. Every class is recorded, so anything they missed is in the hub afterwards.
Do students fall behind if they miss an online class?
They watch the recording in the hub, work through that week’s workbook section and book a one-to-one session to catch up. Nothing is lost because a class was missed.
How long is each online class?
Each class runs for 90 minutes, once a week during the school term.
How do we try the online program?
Book a free 15-minute Program Discovery Call to discuss your child’s needs, the available class, timetable and fees. You can decide whether the program fits before enrolling.
